Notice About the Road & Common Area Right of Way
Those of you who are not full time residents may notice a change at the front of your property from your property
line to the edge of the road. There is a 50' Right of Way on each cul d sac and 60' along the main arterials. This
is common property belonging to the Association. After years of asking for Grant Money to make our Community more Fire Safe,
Walker Range and
Oregon Dept of Forestry have granted us $3,900.00 to remove Trees and
Vegetation on the Common areas along roadways subject to their requirements which have been posted on the Association
Bulletin Board.
Thank you

From Walker Range Fire 9/23/2011
Our phones have been ringing of the hook at the office with inquiries about the smoke filtering into our basin
this afternoon and evening. I have included a short weather statement at the end of the message detailing the
winds expected through the weekend. It's the gusty winds that is bringing in the smoke. Might have the smoke
intrusion throughout the weekend.
The fire(s) are west of the crest, on the divide between the Umpqua and Rogue National Forests. (Think south of
Diamond Lake, kinda) They have a cluster of monitor fires that today's winds caused control problems with. As of
now it appears to be settling heavier into the Lapine basin as the evening progresses.
Weather Report
EAST OF THE CASCADES AND SISKIYOUS...BREEZY WINDS WITH HOT AND DRY
WEATHER IS EXPECTED AHEAD OF THE SYSTEM LATE SATURDAY AND SATURDAY
EVENING. THE FRONT IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN DRY AS IT CROSSES THE EAST SIDE ON SUNDAY...BUT ANOTHER ROUND OF VERY GUSTY
WINDS IS LIKELY. THIS WILL BE FOLLOWED BY MUCH COOLER WEATHER BEHIND THE FRONT.
Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 38. West southwest wind between 7 and 10 mph becoming calm.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Breezy, with a calm wind becoming south southwest between 19 and 22 mph.
Winds could gust as high as 32 mph.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30. Southwest wind 17 to 20 mph becoming west southwest 8 to 11 mph.
Winds could gust as high as 29 mph.
Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 61. South southwest wind between 14 and 21 mph,
with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Sunday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. Southwest wind between 6
and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
Have a safe weekend.
Keep your Smokey On…

2011 Fire Season Goes Into Effect in Klamath and
Lake Counties
Effective 01:00a.m., PDT, Monday June 20, 2011. Fire officials in Klamath and Lake
Counties designate the beginning of Fire Season on private, county, and state
forestlands in Klamath and Lake Counties.
The fire season in effect declaration puts into place regulations restricting debris
and burn barrel burning and forest operations. Wildland and structural fire protection
agencies in Klamath and Lake Counties have agreed to prohibit all outdoor debris
burning and burn barrels.
Forest operations that require a Permit to Operate Power Driven Machinery will be
required to have Fire Tools, on-site water supply and watchman service on privately
owned forest lands as of June 20. 2011.
So to clarify – no debris burning – no burn barrels, allowed from June 20th on.
